How does matching work?
Go online, set your desired languages and gender preferences, then tap 'Start matching'. The system pairs you with someone who shares at least one language and matches your preferences.
What does 'End Chat' do?
It immediately ends the current conversation. Both sides will see that the chat has ended and can choose to save the chat history.
What does 'Block' do?
Blocking a user permanently prevents them from matching with you again. If you're currently chatting, the room is closed immediately.
What does 'Report' do?
Report flags inappropriate behavior to the admin team. The reported user may be reviewed and banned if necessary.
Can I save chat history?
Yes! After a chat ends, you can save it. You can only keep one saved chat at a time — saving a new one overwrites the old one.
How do voice messages work?
Hold the 🎤 button to record a voice message, then release to send. The message appears as an audio player your partner can listen to.
What happens when the timer runs out?
If no messages are sent within the timeout window, the room expires automatically. Both users are freed to match again.
Is my identity revealed?
No. Your email and name are never shown to the other person. They only see your gender.
Can I extend the timer during a chat?
Yes! Either person can request extra time (up to 1200 minutes). The other person must accept for it to take effect. Once accepted, the time is added to the current countdown.

Is 0Chat free to use?
Yes! 0Chat is completely free. There are no subscription fees, no premium features — just open, spontaneous conversations with people worldwide.
How do I change my language settings?
You can set up to 3 languages for chatting during registration. The interface language can be changed anytime from the dropdown menu. Your chat languages are used to help you find people who speak the same languages.
What do Online and Offline mean?
When you are Online, you are visible in the matching pool and can be paired with other users. When Offline, you will not be matched with anyone. Think of it as your availability toggle — go online when you're ready to chat!
How does the idle timeout work?
You set a minimum and maximum wait time from the home page. If neither person sends a message within the overlapping timeout window, the room expires automatically. This keeps conversations active and ensures chats don't stay idle forever.
Can I change my gender or matching preferences later?
Currently, gender and gender preference are set during registration and cannot be changed afterward. Please choose carefully when signing up.
What happens if I close the browser during a chat?
If you close the browser or lose your internet connection, you will appear offline to your chat partner. The room remains open until the idle timeout expires. You can reconnect by returning to the home page — as long as the room is still active, you will rejoin the conversation.
Is my chat data secure and private?
Yes. Your privacy is our top priority. Chat messages are only stored temporarily for the active conversation. We do not permanently store your chat history on our servers. Your name and email are never shared with other users — only your gender is visible.
What devices and browsers can I use?
0Chat works on any device with a modern web browser — desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. There is no app to download; just visit the website and start chatting instantly.
What makes 0Chat different from other chat platforms?
0Chat is built around timed, spontaneous conversations with real people around the world. There are no profiles to maintain, no followers to collect, no social pressure — just genuine one-on-one chats that naturally end when the timer runs out. It's about quality moments, not building a network.
How do chat themes work?
During a chat, you can switch between three visual themes: Normal (the default clean look), VS Code (a dark developer-friendly theme), and Princess (a soft pink theme). Your theme choice only affects your own view — your chat partner won't see your theme change.
How can I delete my account?
To delete your account, use the Contact Admin form to submit a deletion request. The admin team will process your request and remove your data from the system. You can find the Contact Admin page from the home screen.
Can I send images or files in chat?
Currently, 0Chat supports text messages and voice messages only. Image sharing and file transfers are not yet available, but we're always improving and may add these features in future updates.
What is the room name feature?
You and your chat partner can give the conversation room a custom name. It's a fun way to personalize your chat and makes saved conversations easier to identify later. Both participants can rename the room at any time.
What should I do if I encounter inappropriate behavior?
Use the Report button immediately to notify the admin team, then use the Block button to permanently prevent that user from ever matching with you again. We take user safety seriously and review all reports promptly.
